■ Fu Jen Catholic University Regulations Governing the Credit Program in Applied Chinese

Article 1

The College of Liberal Arts formulated Fu Jen Catholic University Regulations Governing the Credit Program in Applied Chinese (hereinafter ‘the Regulations’) in accordance with Fu Jen Catholic University Regulations Governing the Establishment of Credit Programs in order to integrate teaching resources, encourage students to pursue cross-disciplinary studies, boost their job competitiveness, and develop industry professionals in applied Chinese.

Article 2

The Curriculum Committee of the College of Liberal Arts is responsible for formulating the Regulations and planning the curriculum of the Credit Program.

Article 3

In order to reach the goal of cross-disciplinary education, the curriculum includes courses in both the Day Division and the School of Continuing Education.

Article 4

Students must earn at least 20 credits to complete Program, including 4 to 6 required credits, 4 optional credits, and 12 elective credits. (Please see the appendix for the course list).

Article 5

Undergraduates in sophomore year as well as first-year master’s and doctoral students may apply to the Program. Dates to apply are based on the University schedule.

Article 6

Students in the Program will join an existing class to take courses; no extra fees are required. If another class must be opened because more than 20 students enroll, students must pay fees charged per credit.

Article 7

If a student has not enrolled in the Program, but has completed all required credits before graduation and meets the requirements stipulated in Article 9, they may submit a hard-copy application including their academic transcripts and supporting documents in order to be recognized as having completed the Program.

Article 8

Grades earned in courses for the Program will be included as part of a student’s average grade for the semester. Related matters will be handled in accordance with Fu Jen Catholic University Academic Policies.

Article 9

Students enrolled in the Program must go to lectures and training events hosted by the Program in order to receive the Certificate of Completion.

Article 10

If it is confirmed that a student meets the requirements in the Article above and that they have taken all required courses and completed required credits, the University will issue them a Certificate of Completion.

Article 11

Any matters not covered in the Regulations will be handled in accordance with Fu Jen Catholic University Regulations Governing the Establishment of Credit Programs.

Article 12

The Regulations were passed by the Curriculum Committee of the College of Liberal Arts and submitted to the University Curriculum Committee. They will be promulgated and implemented upon the approval of the Academic Affairs Council. The same procedure will be followed for each amendment.
